Bud the Puna Gnome and Tiki Jr. Go to Las Vegas
January 28th to February 18th, 2007
We were welcomed by Miss Cherry Capri who was our hostess for the whirlwind 2 ½ week vacation to Las Vegas. http://www.cherrycapri.com
The main reason we went to Las Vegas was to attend Mondo Lounge Atomic Frolic.
This was an amazing weekend long event dedicated to bringing back
the Rat Pack era to Las Vegas.
There were live lounge bands, great retro vendors,
fun slide shows and lots of pinup girls!

We got to hang out with the show's producers, Java from Java's Bachelor Pad and Futura Girl from Lotta Living.

We met many new friends there!
And we may have overdone it a little...
But the next day, we went to the spa to sweat out the toxins and were feeling right as rain.
So later we relaxed for a few days and just hung out by the pool. The weather was absolutely beautiful!
One day we went golfing at the old Stardust Country Club
(It's now called the Las Vegas National Golf Club).
There certainly is alot to do in Las Vegas!
But our visit to Vegas did not end there We went to the Liberace Museum!
And we saw many of the famous hotels and casinos like Luxor!
And New York New York where Lady Liberty was dressed up in a East Coast jersey for the big NBA All Star Game! (We watched the game from the Sport's Book there and we're kinda glad our team the West - won!)
We also went to the Tropicana where we felt right at home!
We dropped by Paris, Las Vegas for a pastry!
And saw the famous Flamingo Hotel!
Yes, we even went to the Hooters Casino! They have a good 24 hour coffee shop there.
Did you know that they call Las Vegas "da ninth island?"
It's because there are so many Hawaiians here.
So we dropped by the Hawaiian Marketplace to say hello to King Kamehameha.
And guess who else we ran into there? The other king, Elvis!!!
Cherry took us thrift store shopping.
We found some really nice Hawaiian shirts
and an appropriate mug, considering how much partying we did there...
One night, we went back to Cherry's house and listened to her new record with the Martini Kings,
"Creamy Cocktails & Other Delights."
We liked the last song on the album very much Creamy Cocktail.

So afterwards, Cherry took us to the world famous Peppermill
where the first "Pearly Necklace" Cherry's signature Creamy Cocktail was invented.
Isn't it a pretty cocktail? It's very tropical tasting with vanilla, coffee and COCONUT!
Needless to say we sucked it all up.
Later Cherry dropped us off at a Gentleman's Club the notorious Crazy Horse and warned us to be good.
On the last night, we visited the National Register Landmark
The Little Church of the West the oldest Wedding Chapel on the Strip.
This is where Elvis and Ann Margret were married in the movie "Viva Las Vegas!"
We are not sure what happened here but let's just say that what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.
